How to Dress Age Appropriate

I find that the more advanced I get in age, the harder it is to find clothes that I like that also don’t look tacky for my age. Many of the fashion forward pieces are just too revealing at times and I don’t feel sophisticated enough to wear some of those things. Many big box stores like Gap and Old Navy in contrast feel very junior to me. Things that I would wear when I was in high school and college do not accurately represent me the same way now. Office and work clothes are a different matter, nice fitting blazers and pencil skirts are suitable alternatives to black dress pants. It’s the day to day clothes that make me feel like I could get carded at a bar versus the clothes that make me feel geriatric. I’m not looking for loud shirts with eye popping neon prints nor am I looking to catch the early bird dinner special in a womens linen shirts. I just wish I could find balance where I can where tee shirts without drawing attention to myself and still feel somewhat youthful.
